Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) technology provide researchers in social sciences with new opportunities and also change the set of subjects these researchers are studying. As AI becomes increasingly important in daily decision-making, it is crucial to explore how AI interacts with social sciences and with human decision-makers.

To promote research on emerging issues related to the methodology, applications, and socioeconomic implications of the growing availability of AI tools, Economic and Political Studies (EPS), with the generous support of Renmin University of China and in collaboration with the University of Napoli, Federico II, Italy, and EM Normandie Business School, France, will convene a research conference on May 27-28, 2025.

EPS is a Scopus (Q1) and WOS (Q2) listed journal hosted by Renmin University of China and published by Taylor & Francis (ISSN 2095-4816, CN 10-1049/C). It is a quarterly journal published both online and in print (http://www.tandfonline.com/reps).

The organizers will consider submissions on topics including, but not limited to:

· AI and politics

· AI and economics

· AI and sociology

· AI and its impact on macroeconomic outcomes and inequality

· AI and its impact on education, health, and healthcare

· AI and its impact on the labour market

· AI and financial institutions

· The use of AI to improve socioeconomic decision-making

· The regulation of AI and its impact on government policy

· Privacy and security of AI, and its impact on the national security

· Others

The organizers welcome submissions of both empirical and theoretical research papers and encourage submissions from scholars who are early in their careers.

Papers that are submitted for presentation at the conference may also be submitted to EPS under its dual review system at no extra cost. Papers that are rejected at any stage of this process are not considered to have been rejected by EPS.  Authors may submit a future version of the same paper to EPS, even if the paper is not selected for presentation at the conference.

Please do not submit papers that have been accepted for publication or that will be published before the conference.  Authors chosen to present papers will be notified as soon as possible after the submission of abstracts.  All presenters are expected to attend the conference in person.
