Navigating the Silver Economy: Challenges and Strategies

14 October 2024, Berlin, Germany

The Silver Economy Forum 2024 is scheduled for 15 and 16 October in Berlin, Germany. This forum will examine the evolving concept of leadership across all age groups and explore how governments and businesses can facilitate progress during the latter half of the Decade of Healthy Aging. This exclusive global event will bring together 200–300 senior participants from the realms of business, government, academia, think tanks, NGOs, and civil society for a day of keynote speeches, panel discussions, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities.

As a prelude to the forum, Global Coalition on Aging and Economic and Political Studies, a Scopus (Q1) and WOS (Q2) indexed journal hosted by Renmin University of China and published by Taylor & Francis, will jointly host an academic session titled “Navigating the Silver Economy: Challenges and Strategies” on the afternoon of 14 October 2024. We invite submissions from researchers, policymakers, and practitioners worldwide, focusing on the following key topics within the silver economy:

 ·  Long-term care and support services for the elderly
 · Financial planning and security for seniors
 · Employment opportunities for post-retirement seniors
 · Technology solutions for independent living
 · Inclusive design and accessibility in public spaces
 · Lifelong learning opportunities for seniors
 · Elder abuse prevention and intervention strategies


This session will offer a platform for presenting research findings and exchanging best practices aimed at addressing the challenges and opportunities posed by an aging population and driving the development of the silver economy. Submissions, in the form of either extended abstracts or full papers, should be sent via email to Economic and Political Studies at  journal@ruc.edu.cn  by 25 September 2024. Authors of accepted submissions will be notified by 30 September 2024.

A selection of conference papers will be considered for publication in a special issue of Economic and Political Studies, subject to additional peer review. For more details about the journal, please
